Choose an iPhone expense tracker by workflow.

The best expense tracker for you is the one whose entry method you will keep using. Compare how you add purchases, how periods work and where your data goes before choosing by a feature count.

This is the developer's comparison on the TrackExpenses website. It is not an independent ranking. The table reports features checked in each product's own documentation; “—” means unverified here, not absent.

If your bank sends useful SMS alerts

TrackExpenses, Monetal and Tab.it document iOS message workflows. Compare setup, format handling, review and privacy. SMS tracking is not exclusive to one app, and none of these documented workflows proves that your particular bank format will work. Test a real alert before relying on automation.

If you prefer to say purchases

Compare supported languages, device requirements and whether audio is processed locally or remotely. TrackExpenses makes on-device drafts with Pro on compatible devices; Cash Book documents a connected processing route. The right choice depends on the devices and languages you actually use.

If payday is your month boundary

TrackExpenses and Monefy both document custom monthly starts. Spendee documents a budget start date and daily allowance. A date option alone does not establish that every list and chart follows it: inspect the report scope you need. TrackExpenses applies its fiscal month to the ledger, budgets and charts.

Try a small real ledger

Add one expense, one income and a transfer between accounts. Check a payday boundary, export a sample and inspect the privacy policy. Those actions show whether the workflow fits you better than an unsupported claim that one app is “best” for everyone.
